The last thing I want to be on a four hour flight is stuffed or needing to shite.

^ this all the way

Airports and flying are an inconvenient, unfortunate necessity. Nothing enjoyable about the whole thing already, much less stuffing yourself at an overpriced restaurant just so you can be crammed in a metal tube a few hours later with all that sitting in your stomach.

I was told by someone who should know that there are several of those food outlets bleeding cash. As in not making money.

I just flew in and out of MSY. On the surface, the interior seemed really well designed aesthetically and logistically, definitely better looking than the majority of US airports I've been to. I also grabbed some food from the Folse cafe. The food and service was decent. Unfortunately, airport food has limitations similar to large sports venues. Concessions companies pay a huge cut to the venue to secure the contract. In turn they operate on tight margins, cutting corners with quality and increasing prices to the customers (which is easy when your customers trapped in the venue). This leads to "B" grade versions of food/drink vendors that are typically higher quality at their original locations. This isn't unique to New Orleans. Take a look at any large venue across the country with "local" options and you'll find the same thing.

Particularly at an airport that is not a hub where almost no one makes a connection to another flight. You arrive and get on your flight you land and depart. It's not like having a wait to make another flight at MSY.

Certianly not at one that is not a hub like MSY, no one is making connections there.

It’s really ridiculous. I enjoy the people watching at airports. But the airport itself is not the destination.

It can be in an unintended way. I mean, if you’re delayed or flight canceled, I would rather be in Atlanta or another major hub than a smaller airport with inferior amenities.

The brightest and smoothie king coming out of southwest are good and all I’ll ever need. People are complaint about something they should know isn’t going to be that great. In the end, it’s an airport

I really liked Leah's - had never been to their restaurant before and really thought it was cool to sample the bbq shrimp like that. I'd give it a 4.5 out of 5 for airport food and the prices were reasonable.

Good. Serves people right for making such a big deal about eating at the fricking airport.

You've come all the way to New Orleans; you can wait until you get to the Quarter to have a beignet.

And if, god forbid, some of you fatties had to skip a meal, never fear: I promise you won't starve to death.

Can’t wait till the TulaneLSU “Review of the top 10 restaurants at MSY’ is published.

Are you one of those people who shits after every meal? That must suck.

Some people have stable digestive systems though.
