Reversible Belts: trashy or cost efficient?

My girlfriend bought me some new ties and a reversible belt for Christmas? Should I wear or not? I am not a fan of them.

Really? I don't think. Seems efficient to me unless you're wearing $1500 suit, which I doubt few if any of this board's visitors do.

Eventually they get all cracked up from it being two pieces of leather, assuming you're talking about a belt to wear with suits or dress pants. I've had a couple of them, and only one is still usable. I only wear it on the brown side though. I have plenty of black leather belts.
That being said, I do have a nylon fabric reversible belt that is awesome. I bought it mainly to wear with jeans and shorts though, so only after work in the summer or on the weekends. It is a gun belt.

I would never wear a reversible belt with my khaki's and Target blazer.

The ones I've had in the past always seem to wear out quicker. Maybe I was just rough on my belts when I was younger.

Sounds like she doesn't like you anyway, so it may be a good way to break it off. I mean, ties and a reversible belt? Sounds like a "mom didn't know what to get" gift.

How would it be trashy. I’ve used reversible belts for the last 10 years or so. Assuming it’s a good quality, name brand belt, I see nothing trashy about it at all.

Kenneth Cole made a nice belt that's reversible that I wear every day. Nothing is a bigger waste of money than a belt that costs $150 that isn't made of pure, raw hide leather.

I'm not going to say that I don't own one, but they do suck compared to a genuine leather belt. One side always starts to delaminate rather quickly, so that gain in cost efficiency will just be offset by having to buy them more frequently.

I don't think it's possible to make a full grain reversible belt... Unless it's the same on both sides. That's why they crack and always look like shite.
