NY Times has a good article about Mercer. Incredibly tragic his whole thing. We have to start holding these parents criminally and civilly liable. That is the only solution.

The crimes are just becoming more spectacular and therefore drawing attention.

Should we start a betting pool on what time today there will a false report of an active shooter on some other campus because everyone is on edge? Someone will see a guy in the band walking from his car with his trombone case or something and call it in.
Happens every time.
Happens every time.

....a little pat on the back for myself....
Been saying it the last multiple shootings that's happened and I think this is a real problem...
My post yesterday afternoon...
Now this morning....
This guy is now basically a martyr for these people with the same issues. Another seed has been planted in someone else's head and I'm sure it'll happen again soon.
The media in this country, IMO, is one of the worst things fricking up society. I honestly have no idea to fix it. But it's a major, major problem

My post yesterday afternoon...
quote:
People have mental issues, feel worthless.
Want to be remembered or known....
Shoots people.
News/media plasters guys face and name all over the place.
Guy is in history books just like he wanted.
Same cycle every time, yet the media constantly reminds us all about said person .
Now this morning....
quote:
Gawker uncovered a post kept on a torrent-uploading website that it said seemed to belong to Mercer. In the post, he seemed to identify with the WDBJ-TV shooter.
I have noticed that so many people like him are all alone and unknown, yet when they spill a little blood, the whole world knows who they are. A man who was known by no one, is now known by everyone. His face splashed across every screen, his name across the lips of every person on the planet, all in the course of one day. Seems the more people you kill, the more your’re in the limelight.
Mercer was killed Thursday after a brief gun battle with authorities.

I'm glad they killed this beta little atheist bitch. Nobody should give him the stisfaction of printing or mentioning his name in public. They should also find every dickhead who was on 4chan encouraging and laughing about this stuff and deal with them swiftly.

Army vet charged the shooter
The one to remember is 30-year-old Chris Mintz, the student and Army vet who was shot at least five times while charging straight at the gunman in an effort to save others.
Mintz did so on the sixth birthday of his son, Tyrik.
At the hospital, Mintz underwent at least one surgery. His cousin reports that he is expected to recover.
“From what I’m hearing, he’s fine,” the cousin said. “But he’s going to have to learn to walk again.”

Chris Mintz is a badass. Guy should never have to buy a beer for the rest of his life.

He should go see a psychologist. Or psychiatrist.

You did call it perfectly.
Politicians always want to argue gun control after these events. They never want to discuss the myriad of mental health issues affecting these people and their causes.

This is the guy who deserves to have his picture posted everywhere. I'm going to go back and put his picture on every one of my posts in this thread. He's the one who deserves national notoriety from yesterday.

Trying to take advantage of an opportunity to divide and conquer

Call me crazy, but if that's dividing the nation, we got much bigger issues than Obama and his agenda yesterday.
