Why is 4chan still around? The UCSB shooting and this shooting have been connected to it. Plus the guy who killed a woman and posted pictures of it there. Oh, let's not forget the child pornography that used to be posted on there. Fricking cesspool.

I had to go to class around page 10. Can someone give me an update what we've found out since then so I don't have to wade through the crap about gun control to find the good posts?

Shooter is dead.

Identity unknown.

Lots of chatter about a 4Chan thread from yesterday that could be the shooter telling his e-freinds he was going to off the "normies".

Lots of rumors. Nothing confirmed.

Girl on CNN was in a room next to the shooter or near it. One of her friends went to the room where the shooter was to see what was going on. She opened the door and was shot. The girl says she doesn't know the condition of her friend. So sad.

Supposedly they were busing students to fairgrounds so family could come get them. I'm guessing there were some parents who went out there and didn't have their kids show up, and that's pretty gut-wrenching.

CNN reports that 3 pistols and 1 rifle were found, but no confirmation if all of these were the gunman's.

Oregon allows concealed carry on campus, but still I would say its likely that its the gunman's.

I agree.

Well that is the choice people have to make.

We did at airports as a knee jerk reaction to 9/11 because we are willing to pay that price to maintain safety (or the illusion thereof) that we are safe when we fly.

Apparently we haven't reached that point with schools. I guess it will take a 9/11 type event at a school.

I would happily pay more to have airport level security at my daughter's school.

What are the reports on dead/injured?

I found a screen shot of the supposed 4chan post on imgur. The other posters were encouraging him and giving him advice. Sick fricks. They should all be locked up.

That is what all the local TV channels were reporting on my lunch hour.

The shooters will just move on to the next soft target like the mall or the grocery store. Hell, if they were smart they'd just wait till everyone is in a nice pretty line waiting to go through the body scanner to get into class and mow them down like that.

That probably says as much about the UK as it does about Savage, considering the UK fostered Islamic extremism for a decade because they were too pussified to stop it.

Anyway, I agree Savage is probably wrong. I don't think it's inciting racism as "muslim" isn't a race. It may be fear mongering, but speculating about a mass shooting being Islam-related isn't exactly the worst guess.

Eh...Europe is understandably more afraid of Rightwing extremist terrorism-- look at their history, hell look at Modern Europe the deadliest attack of the last decade by far was perpetrated by an anti-Muslim whackjob.

That said I appreciate how unique the first amendment is in the US.

Probably.

Why is the airport so almighty important then?

Why don't we just tell everyone to open carry on planes?

More afraid of RW terrorism than we are? Or more afraid of it than Muslim terrorism? because the former is probably true, but the latter is wildly and laughably untrue.

I would pay to have more security at sporting events. I know the lines are already a hassle, but damn... that's a lot of people in one place.
