This is already an issue with Boomers retiring in droves. The other problem is that it is mostly college educated people who are putting off having kids. Thus, the ones who would raise them in educated households with the means to further their children's education and skillset drops. So fewer engineers, scientists, etc..Brain drain.

Like it really matters, by the time I reach the age to pull from Social Security, there won’t be any money to be had from it. Primarily because the generation that is now old (boomers) literally stole from future generations.
Not that I really give too much of a frick as I am vehemently against social security on its face.

It actually has more to do with the federal government using the interest proceeds from our contributions to fund the general fund. They are not allowing the SS benefits to grow the same as you would if you could take that money and invest it yourself.
