55k suburban

Last time I rented a car they gave me a fully loaded Suburban because of my Hertz Baller Status. The sticker was in the glove compartment. It was almost $80K. When you departed from a lane the seat would vibrate. Let's just say I road the shoulder the entire trip, hey now!

1. go to the national location and see if they have any in the emerald aisle( they usually do have at least one tahoe or suburban)
2. go sit in the suburban and book the rental(mid-size) on your phone using contract ID 5760339
3. ???
4. Profit

Hertz probably paid closer to $50K for that vehicle. They will rent it and make money with the car for a year or so, then clean it up and sell it back to a dealership or to an individual for $50-60K.

I think he said National, which would make more sense. Airport locations typically have higher rates.

Enterprise price for a Suburban from BTR is $1250 a week without any discounts.

When are you renting it? Around the holidays a lot of the rental car companies jack up the price.

I rented a small car for three days just before the 4th of July a couple years ago and they charged three times the normal rate. Luckily my company payed for it.

We (wife and 4 kids) are going to Kauai in May. The Expedia price for a Suburban or Expedition was about $180 a day or $2500 for the two weeks. We looked at other sites and settled on a Tahoe for $1400 for the two weeks. I guess they charge out the arse for rear storage space?

We will just drive from the airport crammed in with our luggage to the North Shore. We can manage to suffer that for 35 minutes to save $1100.

Dillp is right on. I use National to rent every week.

I'm in a loaded Chevy Traverse right now from MSY for $33/day.

Yep. A new one has a sticker in the $70-75K range.

Hint: Never buy new. Always get one that is 2-3 years old and is GM certified.

That's not what you're renting, I rent them regularly and it's always an LT or LTZ

Will the Tahoe seat 6 or just 5? Most of the time we rent Suburbans it's because we need to be able to fit 6-8 people in it and cars or regular SUVs don't have enough seats. Minivans will usually work, but they don't have as much cargo space as a Suburban.

My Tahoe seats 8 with the third row up. Not much room for storage though.

I've rented tahoes, jeep grands, Buick enclaves, Acadias and never paid more than 19 a day grabbing one out of the emerald exec aisle. I've seen sequoias and expeditions there too.

Are you dropping it the same place you are picking it up? Is so there is a bit of a premium on that.

I just got on Expedia and looked up SUV rental for a week and they have a Yukon XL @ National Car Rental for $814.00.

Join emerald club, rent a midsize last minute special through national at MSY. Jump in whatever full size suv is in the emerald executive selection. Sometimes they have suburbans, sequoias, expeditions. They won't ask any questions about executive vs. non executive. You'll be cruising for 15-20 bucks a day.

Thank me later.

Been a Emerald Club member since 2001. Just got off the phone with them. Suburban for 8 days is $2808.

Alamo has the same vehicle for $970.

If you can, rent from an off-airport location. It is cheaper.
