So let me get this straight

You don't have personal car insurance and didn't take the optional insurance through Alamo?

OP is a cheap bastard apparently.

People who willfully drive without insurance are pieces of shite anyway.

If you don't have insurance and the card doesn't cover the truck, you are going to pay for whatever the damages cost to get fixed. You don't really have a say in the matter on how much it will cost to get fixed. You'll pay loss of use (whatever it costs to rent the vehicle per day every day that it's in the shop) in addition to whatever the damages are. It's going to be fixed with all manufacturer parts and like it's brand new. And if you don't pay for the damages, it will go to collections and it will impact your credit.

So in other words, you will pay whatever the rental company tells you it costs to repair or your credit will suffer.

All of this could have been avoided if you just paid for the Damage Waiver, FWIW.

No because i was renting a midsize car which is covered. When i went outside to get the vehicle, they didn't have my car. They only had 1 truck. During which, I didn't have time to check if that specific vehicle is covered under my policy. It wasn't

your personal car insurance should cover it.
Not always true. Even if it's full coverage, there are a lot of policies that don't transfer to rental vehicles.

Cancel your credit card immediately. Don't give Alamo ANY pay information. Ignore all contact from them. Those motherfrickers have insurance in their vehicles. Let them cover it. Don't respond until you get a summons from a sheriff.

FWIW, don't even if the card company tells you they cover rental cars, don't go with them. Getting them to pay for damages is like pulling teeth and until they do pay for it, you won't be able to rent a car. Credit card companies that have car insurance are a massive pain in the arse to collect from.

I hope you're being sarcastic. Because they will be on him like white on rice and his personal credit will take a massive hit. Bye bye to any new car or getting a loan for a new house.

That sucks OP. I feel you here, gonna cost you. I'm guessing to fix that would be $3,000/ panel but that's a blind guess and as said you are going to pay Loss of use fees.

Why didn't the car company have any other vehicles? Did you reserve it ahead of time? what would you have done if you knew they didn't cover a truck? If you originally tried to rent a car, I'd be on the CC company hard. But they are probably covered with some fine print.

I would have never taken it knowing its not covered. I never driven with no insurance before

Eventually it's my fault

Haven't read past the OP but:

If this rental was replacing your personal car, your collision coverage should cover the damages to your rental.

ETA I see this was addressed in the third post. Will continue reading.

The doors won't be $3000 each. Hopefully the damage isn't bad enough to where the whole door needs to be replaced, just the door skin.

Not great advice, but turn it in at night when the workers are less likely to review damages. There's a chance they could miss it and you just skate on by.

Or just turn it in and don't mention it.

Thanks man

I just wish they would have checked that my insurance cover this kind of vehicle when i told them i have coverage through my CC.

I was under the impression that they won't let you take the car if its not covered

Does your card cover liability too? If not I'm surprised they let you out of the building without proof of liability coverage.

And the onus is on you to check your coverage.

This is the one time where "check yourself before you wreck yourself" isn't just a nickels worth of free advice.

ETA wether you're looking at skinning the doors or completely replacing them, the fender and the bedside panel will need to be blended along with the painting of the doors.

No way I'm driving that vehicle myself to their location without having valid insurance. I already called them and asked for someone to come pick it up

I would ask for a copy of the policy/cardmember agreement and not just take their word for it.
