It appears like the state is well on its way to spend over $210 million to renovate the Superdome. I’ve been there several times in the last few years. It doesn’t need the $450 million renovations they are hoping to get. The state is paying for at least $210 million.

I thought we didn’t have enough money to build a new bridge but we have enough money to renovate the Superdome.

I’m glad we have our priorities straight. Thanks legislators and cronies.

This is nothing new. The state taxpayers have been paying for that piece of shite since it was built. They have no priorities.

What produces more tax revenue, a globally recognized sports and entertainment venue or a po dunk bridge to help you save 20 mins on your miserable BR commute? Small TIME ideas like this are what has held Louisiana BACK for decades. Congrats on your ignorance

The Louisiana Stadium and Exposition District, the government entity which oversees the property, will pay roughly $200 million of the $450 million renovation.

The Saints will pay about $160 million and the state about $90 million.

According to this LINK you have your numbers wrong

Super dome generates money and tourism. They don’t give a shite if you’re stuck in traffic everyday.

I think the new bridge cost estimate is closer to a billion.

But you're right - the $210MM would make a nice downpayment.

That piece of shite plus a mediocre team is a financial drain on this state and a cash cow for now Gayle Benson. You are a fricking moron. Globally recognized for wearing bags on their heads and choking.

Dude. Alabama landed a Buc-ee's. LA is both poor and poorly run.

This is 53 years worth.

New Orleans Saints Playoff History
Seasons: 53 (1967 to 2019)
Record (W-L-T): 362-435-5.
Playoff Record: 9-11.
Super Bowls Won: 1 (1 Appearance)
Championships Won*: 1.

Pretty underwhelming.

I've heard they are still finding bodies in there from Katrina...

That's crazy.

Blame the refs. Superbowl appearances would have doubled.

You do realize that the Superdome is already a globally recognized facility.

Thanks for your ignorance and false choice fallacy though.

I promise you more tax revenue would be generated by the new bridge than renovating the Superdome.
