Yea, what Caparotta just showed was eye opening. He showed 12-15 inches over the entire EBR, Iberville, northern half of Ascension, and Livingston areas. Pretty much 90% of the precise area you don’t want that much rain to fall over a twelve hour window. I hope that doesn’t happen because if it does, the Amite is going to tell a lot of people hello again.

Yeah... uhh... I now live in EBR in 1 of the communities which successfully seceded from Baton Rouge

We got hammered by yesterday's rain... I was almost on an island then

Not sure we can take much more

He showed 2 models, one with the 10+ and one with < 5 inches total, so it’s not definitive we’re getting a foot of rain

Models are never definitive. He keeps saying he’s growing more concerned though, and he’s not one to over hype things.

I’m not an expert at all but the way the radar looks right now I’m a bit more concerned than I was yesterday. I’m in New Orleans and we were well south of the heaviest rain models earlier today. What’s heading our way right now looks like I’m gonna be out in waders making sure my drain is clear at 4am.

Right... but it's not model watching time anymore

He's making that call from what he's seeing on radar that's actually happening

Right now those models are likely just playing a supporting role at best to what he's saying

That’s probably a fair point.

NWS is full of crap. I’m currently sitting where they have the X located and there isn’t even a breeze.

Looks like Metairie/Kenner will get a massive amount of rain, correct? Radar is looking like that.

I’m following Cajun scanner. Sounds like at least one or multiple tornados on the eastside in the last 30 mins. Roofs off houses etc.

ETA:
House collapse on Dixie ave and someone trapped in their bathroom on Evelyn.

I live in downtown thib I probably have 8inches of water in front my house but that’s pretty normal.

Make it a foot.
