It is extremely difficult to buy and automatic weapon but what Lib's forgot to understand is that a criminal by definition doesn't care about laws.

These sentences are not equivalent. Crime stats that are often cited here support sentence 1, not sentence 2.

Tax stamp to own, 200$. If you can buy a gun you can buy a any Pre ban FA. There are no "permits".

Just like majority of automatic gun owners dont commit crimes. But if even if a few do....maybe they should be outlawed altogether.

It's not quite that "easy." There is a substantial time delay while you go through a serious background check. Guy I know is former military, spotless record, has gotten previous tax stamps, and still has to go through the same song and dance.
Now...that being said, considering NOTHING seems to be known about this guy (at least, to this point), he could very well have obtained an FA legally. But, it's not a "spur of the moment, I need to shoot up a concert next week" process.

Yea. I am no 'gun guy' by any stretch and I know you have to pay a pretty penny to go to special ranges to rent/fire automatic weapons.
And oddly enough Vegas has these kind of excursions targeting businessmen and bachelor parties in town.

Yes. We do. Every time. Wait time varies. Last one was 11 months, some 4 some 6 etc.
