On this issue alone, no one should vote for a Dem again.

This feels like revisionist history. Republican politicians were in favor of the shutdowns as well. Most people were.

Republicans were more likely to be against the mask and vaccine mandates. But that didnt come really until 2021. But originally back in early 2020, mostly everyone agreed on shutting down until we figured things out.

We all know the Repubs were stabbing Trump in the back, as much as the Dems were trying to gut him from the front.

This was an all out attack from an entrenched establishment that did not want an outsider to change their game.

The bureaucracy (and MSM) strikes back...

I went to Lowes. They were limiting the number of people that could go in the outside garden center, for social distancing. They closed the outside access where you had to access through the inside of the store and stand in a line and wait.

the silver lining is that there is going to be a strong pushback from the right AND moderate dems if the government tries to do anything similar to this in the future.

That is crazy to me that one could feel that way after the shite that’s happened/happening.

in the beginning i didn't believe that i would see a time where everyone had to wear masks just to go to work or visit a grocery store.

man, was i wrong!

I declared to anyone that would listen that I would NEVER wear a mask to go grocery shopping.

Like everyone else, I did end up wearing a mask while grocery shopping as well as everywhere else I went. I would have bet $100k that it would have been over in 2 months. I would have lost $100k.

I also said if was going to completely go away as soon as the election was over.

I'm not a smart man.

Someone needs to assemble a master historical record of what really went on through the entire pandemic. The gross abuse of powers, the hypocrisy of allowing mass BLM riots after essentially locking everyone in their homes, the way citizens became an extension of government mandate enforcement, the constantly changing science, everything. Videos, pictures, articles, everything that’s relevant.

I remember a video from a funeral. Chairs spaced 6 feet apart, masks on everyone, maybe 12 people there. The old lady that just lost her husband is sobbing uncontrollably, and two men (presumably her sons) pull up chairs next to her to console her in her grief. The funeral director yells at them to move the chairs back, and they comply.

That time was inherently a blur, but we can never forget what they did to us.

Reading this thread and going back through posts from that time makes me so god damn angry. Our attention spans are fried with the speed of information now, but we can never forget what they did to us.

frick them all to death.

Net positive for big box stores curtailing outside walkout theft, especially in places like Los Angeles where you had a $950 law for no shoplifting charges.

More Americans have died of Covid than the Civil War, WW1, WW2, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan combined in just 2.5 years, but sure all overblown nonsense ??

2020 was proof that few people truly know what the power of hysteria, wielded by the wrong hands, could do to an entire population.

For the first time in my entire life, I felt like I fully understood how the Nazis and the Soviets did it. Never-ending Fear and Anger.

There is a new “message” that pretends lockdowns didn’t happen. Helicopters weren’t sent after people in the wilderness by themselves. People never harasses or attacked anyone for not wearing a mask. What? Lockdowns? Buddy you mean those 2 weeks of Netflix at home?

These are the people who would support a Chinese-style lockdown until there are zero Covid cases. A frightening number of Americans would probably be in favor of this if CNN, MSNBC and Fauci told them it was good.

Forgot about that. Happened for about a week. The HOA owned the parks (big neighborhood) and people said WTF and they put them back. Absurd

White liberals like you gained even more control of the black population by terrifying them. You were also able to get rid of so many small businesses by restrictions, great job!!!! White liberal power!!

Or imagine how bad things would have been absent all efforts that were made to control the virus.

But also the lockdowns weren’t very effective because a large portion of the population didn’t really ever truly lockdown - plus minimal enforcement overall for those who did violate lockdowns or mask mandates. Not to mention the number of non-essential businesses deemed to be “essential” didn’t help either.

All that said, I’m not so much defending the lockdowns or the methods of control as I am refuting the idea that these measures were taken for no reason. Covid was indeed pretty bad, just because we were bad at controlling it doesn’t change that fact.

If I were you I’d shove my head in the sand just like you did in this post. That way you don’t have to look in the mirror and realize that your entire outlook on Covid, and life in general, is wrong.

When white liberals demanded blacks wear masks and they did, but then demanded blacks get vaccinated but they wouldn’t. Did white liberals still burn crosses in front of black churches?

Sorry I hurt your feelings, I’ll get on that head + sand business
