That's a fair criticism. I guess I'm saying that the criminal justice system got it right in charging the cop and in his conviction, but it doesn't make sense for this case to be a chapter in the BLM justification playbook.

It's a spit in the face of justice, all good LEOs, and our ideals if this man doesn't at least see 20 years in prison.

This wasnt premeditated, but if he lied to investigators as wel, we are doing a huge disservice to public trust in law enforcement.

Basically justice will never get served with a Cop Shooting. This is as PLAIN as a day and they got a hung jury.

Pathetic

A real man doesn't have to proclaim he is a real man. That is what transgender men do.

I agree with your sentiment, except the last word. 20 years or more would appropriate. I just think that you are premature to call it Pathetic. Wait until he actually gets sentenced.

But he wasn't convicted. He got a hung jury (which is ammo for BLM's message) and then plead guilty.

BLM's message isn't solely aimed at government/police. A community wouldn't convict a cop even when he's on video shooting someone in the back who is fleeing from him unarmed. I'd say that's a pretty good reason to be upset if I were a member of that community, or if people in my community believed that the officer should get off.

He'll probably only get a slap on the wrist. He deserves life in prison.

According to the plea deal obtained by CNN, the U.S. Attorney’s office in South Carolina will argue for less than the maximum sentence.

Prosecutors agreed to use sentencing guidelines for federal second-degree murder and obstruction of justice, which carry a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.

so guessing 10-15 years?
