Texas

Clear winner

What I would advise is if TX is the choice, consider:
- TX is a large state and by no means static or uniform. Those who moved to Fulshear a decade ago now live in Houston. The amount of growth in all directions is stunning.
- There is a lot of diversity in certain pockets. If that's not your thing, choose wisely.
- Buy a cooler. If back east, load up at HEB. If in TX, load up in LA (exits 44 and 97 are your friends).
- The I-10 construction between the Sabine and Orange, TX is incomplete- able.

What he means is Sugarland has intruded North into Fort Bend County (Fulshear and Katy), and there is 0% chance your kid is making the top 10% in most high schools in Katy ISD, etc. But fairly simple, don't live in Fort Bend County. Go DFW. If you can afford it, the fancy part of Prosper if full of golf carts with LEDs, sound systems and rims of too rich 40 year old show offs.

The only parts of Louisiana I’d consider are Northshore or Lafayette.

For Mississippi I’d look at Bay St Louis, Ocean Springs or Biloxi.

For Texas I’d look at Conroe, The Woodlands, Cypress, Katy or Kingwood.

Assuming you need to be in gulf coast region of each state. If it’s anywhere in the state then it opens up options. Bang for your buck out of these it’s definitely the MS coast. The other two options are nice but can be damn expensive.

pick your favorite texas city/metro area

This was the correct answer right off the bat

Your realistic choices are obviously like the two livable coastal MS towns and the entirety of Texas. If you're not from Louisiana there is zero reason to consider Louisiana.

I'm around the MS gulf coast somewhat often.

It's not nearly as nice as people here make it out to be. LOTS of pockets of absolute trash.

You mean the triangle of DFW Houston and SA/austin right? Because hardly anybody relocates outside of that triangle.

I work on the MS Gulf Coast daily, mostly from Pascagoula to Biloxi but sometimes further. I don’t live there because it’s gross… from the homeless and poagie plant smell in Pascagoula to the tourists and drunk rednecks at the casinos in Biloxi it sucks.
Texas.

I’ve lived in Mobile(best) kids graduated..mobile is open school so pick the one you want, born and Raised Mississippi (home)live in Dallas now for work.
My money is gulf coast. Love Dallas but man is it fast, crowded and expensive:) but good eating!
Lived in Austin for a period of time moved to Canyon Lake that was nice but the length to drive to go eat was 45 min.
3 years left going back to gulf coast!!
