Tell me about living and working in the Chattanooga area. I have a possible opportunity to relocate from BTR to Chatanooga later this year. The kids are grown and finishing college so the move will primarily be the wife and me. Although, I see both of my kids possibly finding career opportunities in the area as well.

There are a few posters on here that live there. I've liked Chattanooga the few times I've been

As I’m sure you already know, we’re going to recommend that you stay in BR. It’s simply a superior city.

I wouldn't do it. Chattanooga is a huge downgrade from Baton Rouge imo

Chattanooga is beautiful. You’re 2 hours from Nashville, about 1.5 hours from Knoxville, and about 1.5 hours from Gatlinburg

I live 1 hour north of Chattanooga. Perfect sized city for me. Has a small airport connecting to Atlanta, good private schools in the city and good public in the burbs. Great riverfront area with shops and dining. Close to the mountains and a day or so drive to the beaches. Worst part is traffic sucks on I-24 between Chattanooga and Nashville.

I've never lived in Chattanooga but I thought it seemed like a great smaller, outdoor oriented city. You're only 2 hrs from both Nashville and Atlanta if you need to get away for "more" on occassion. I would think the quality of life would be pretty high.

It's changed a lot in the past 10 years, for the better.

I've lived all over the US (big cities and small) and this is my favorite city so far. There's stuff to do but it's not as busy as some of the bigger cities in the area. The good thing about the location is that it's right between Atlanta and Nashville so it's an easy drive to catch shows or games or whatever you're into.

You will have really awesome internet access.

I honestly doubt you would want to move back to BTR after living in Chattanooga.

Wish Baton Rouge had a cool pedestrian bridge across our little river similar to CHA's Tennessee River bridge.

Plus they make Moon Pies there. What's not to like?

My part of town is very exclusive. You can't just move here. They don't list this real estate on the poverty market.
