That case should not even make it to court.

Do we really have to tell people not to do this?

Anyone with a functioning brain should know that if you run an internal combustion engine indoors for long enough it will kill you.

Not much info in the story but based on what there is, that's a terrible case.

The lawyers who took this case should not be allowed to practice anymore.

You laugh at this...but some fricker got millions for blowing up his own family after illegally tapping a gas line...

Because the lock on the capped line wasn't secure enough.

Yes, it was a Louisiana case.

So it was the utility company's fault the father was using a stolen meter? What are they suppose to do "well, we can't do anything about it because he might not know how to use a generator. He will end up killing himself and all those kids so we are just going to let it go".

Raising 7 children on a minimum wage salary, and he killed all of them with his stupidity. Those poor kids

Cut off for non pays are suspended if temps are below 32 and heat index is above 100, every holiday(including minor ones) and any major storm events. Cut offs are suspended a lot. It's silly. But it's what the PSC says so that's how it goes.
