Didn't think we would get it this year since Christmas is on a Wednesday. Thanks Trump!

I always think its funny when the first response to a thread is bashing the OP. It happens to me all the time and I still laugh at it.

That's an odd response to a benign thread like this...

Eliminating it as a holiday was part of the Muslim Socialist Communist Libs War On Christmas.

Isn't that the govt. choosing one religion over another? I don't see any days off for Kwanzaa this year.

That’s because most people don’t have any clue what you were talking about. You didn’t provide a link, context, or anything else. I couldn’t do anything but insult you.

However, I apologize, carry-on

Nope.

They also have to work on Mardi Gras.

I’ll rejoice when those positions are downsized and/or eliminated.

Nope. Here are the days we officially get as paid holidays:

New Year's Day (1/1)
MLK Day (3rd Monday in January)
Washington's Birthday (3rd Monday in February)
Memorial Day (4th Monday in May)
Independence Day (7/4)
Labor Day (1st Monday in September)
Columbus Day (2nd Monday in October)
Veteran's Day (11/11)
Thanksgiving Day (4th Thursday in November)
Christmas Day (12/25)

For any holiday which falls on a Saturday we get the preceding day (Friday) off; if it falls on a Sunday we get the next day (Monday) off.

Inauguration Day is a holiday only in the DC area.

Christmas Eve is at the discretion of the President and until the last two years, we never got a full day off, at best a 1/2 day.

Also by custom, if a former President dies, the day of his funeral is a declared holiday (I've had that happen three times: Reagan, Ford, and the elder Bush).

States are not required to follow the Federal schedule, many do in whole or part (Texas observes all of the Federal ones except for Columbus Day, but their employees also get the Friday after Thanksgiving off).

That's not true. We got it a couple times during the Obama years.
