"The One" is kinda like that big fish or that trophy buck. He/she is the one until and for a short while after but then you want that "bigger" fish or buck (not a bigger wife, ya know).

I'm very happily married. If and/or when you find "the One", you will know. It took me 42 years to find her. I wish I had met her 20 years before. As a couple we couldn't be more of a perfect match.

ETA: The only thing her and I don't have in common is she likes crunchy peanut butter and I like creamy peanut butter.

Oh...and the stars aligned perfectly for us. I met my wife in Dallas. When I met my wife we both had the exact same address number...1315. Both of my parents went to Hammond High in the 1950's. Her parents went to Hammond High in the 1960's. There are some other strange coincidences about us, too.

I think most normal people know this in a general sense but don't comprehend exactly what that entails. Holding your tongue, letting go of petty shite, getting past problems, etc.

If your first thought about marriage is "why get married when it's so easy to have random sex", you are still just too young to understand and/or appreciate what it is really about.

People don't (or shouldn't) get married to lock down sex. It's about companionship, life building and family raising. Sure, you don't need to get married to have those things with another person, but to say that there is no place in our modern society is asinine. I would argue that the breakdown of the nuclear family is the #1 root cause of many of the social issues we face as a country.

If you had a blast doing engineering at you alma mater I would highly recommend you do a JD there as well.

If you want to be successful, surround yourself with successful people.

If you just want to get laid, surround yourself with no ambition having, shitty personality having, illiterate, "new pussy" sluts.

There's plenty of column A and column B in the world, and good times a plenty to be had with both.
