That was a decent donnybrook, but nothing will ever top Nolan Ryan beating Robin Ventura’s arse

That was nothing. One punch and a bunch of dudes arguing.

Agree. And it didn’t even land..that was one weak pushing argument.

Meh. He was protecting himself.

He got run over by the pile and got caught in a bad spot being somewhat defenseless

Malice at the Palace

Greatest sports fight in history hands down. Where else can you see a 5'6" possibly diabetic Mexican get absolutely blasted by a 6' 10" professional athlete who knows how to throw hands? Nowhere by in that moment in history.

Where else can you see an NBA player swinging a dustpan at fans?

Where else can you hear a hall of fame coach begging for people to stop over the intercom?

I love sports fights.

1. Malice at the Palace

Everything else, but Pedro Martinez fricking up the old man from the Yankees jumps to mind. Also Rudy Tomjonovich etting hit so hard he tasted spinal fluid is a good one. Olympics brawl with Thon Maker throwing hands at 7 feet tall also awesome.

The Braves and Padres pretty much fought an entire game back in 84. One stoppage saw some fans jump onto the field to jon the fracas. The Padres threw at Braves pitcher Pasqual Perez every time he came to bat.

How many fights involving pro athletes in other sports go into the crowd? THAT is where Malice set the standard.

The closest I can think of offhand for other sports is Albert Belle pegging a loudmouth fan with a ball from the field of play.

Most other fights, like in baseball or hockey, are players only. And in baseball’s case tend to look like a scrum on the floor of an Asian country’s parliament rather than a Nolan Ryan asskicking of Robin Ventura.

There was a whole Baseball Hall Of Shame article on that brawl.

The incredible thing is that it took 4 attempts for one of the teams (Padres?) to finally bean the other instead of throwing close.

Something like 5-6 sets of pitchers and managers got tossed from the game in addition to all the suspensions handed out afterward.

Looked like the pitcher landed a pretty good haymaker on approach to the dugout.

There's a better video out there that shows his punch missed, and his other hand raked the guy's hat off.

Side note, Puig who was traded from the reds during this game said frick it let’s ride. Dude is certifiably nuts and I love it.

Such a good teammate he's ready to ride for his baws even after he'd already been traded.

Garrett landed his first with his damn pitching arm.

Needs a quick Crash Davis lesson.
