I was banned about 3 months ago from the Baton Rouge subreddit for questioning why we, as a society, tolerate DMV shutdowns for something that is less deadly than the flu.

I was then banned for spreading Covid misinformation.

Fast forward to today. I messaged the mods and told them that I was banned for spreading misinformation when it's not misinformation any more. I sent them this link, which discusses British case fatality rates.

I asked to be reinstated and they banned me from messaging the mods again for 28 days. I know that place is the anti-tigerdroppings, but believe it or not I'd like to participate in discussions relevant to my hometown.

The absolute smallest amount of power that has gone to someone's head.

You think they are going to change their minds if you use facts and data?

The people who post on that group live with their parents, play fantasy roll playing games, have never kissed someone and wear black rimmed glasses

I would stop trying to reason with folks who have a mental illness.

The platform has gone to shite for years since it was purchased by China. Why people still go there is a mystery for me.

I quit when I saw them recycling cute animal pictures on the front page from months ago. The place is a full-blown echo chamber now and has been for a minute.

Reddit is full of soy boy weak feminine leftist men and overweight purple haired cat ladies

I got banned from the CFB subreddit for saying "it's surprising to see so many supposed college football fans so desperate for there not to be a season this year" in June 2020

Reddit mods don’t like being questioned because they’re power trippers.

I’ve seen people go from a temporary ban to a permanent ban simply for asking for what comment of theirs was highlighted as a rule breaker. The mods call that harassment.

Pretty much all the city and state subs are just extensions of r/politics anyway. Total garbage

Counterpoint: I like to post on that board. Have a family, have never played a fantasy board game, have a wife (and two kids, so proof of sex), and my glasses are turtle shell.

Yes, its a liberal hivemind, but it's also the most popular forum for Baton Rouge that is strictly for discussing goings-on in the city.

Covid and most political discourse long passed the point of logical discourse and has become a zero sum game in which both sides view any admission of past mistakes as an impossibility.

sounds like you need to make a new sub called r/BatonRougeLA that is OT friendly.

The smaller the city, the more entertaining the subreddit..

Lafayette, for example, is:

20% Covid panic

20% Complaining about conservative politicians

20% People talking about video games

20% People with "no skills and no car" looking for "a good paying job where mask mandates are respected"

20% Lost animal posts

There are only a few safe subreddits from liberal garbage and I’m not even hardcore republican.

I literally only hang out on wallstreetbets.

To be fair that only actually proves your wife had sex
