I respectfully disagree. Clinton and Trump have been the best economic presidents in my lifetime.

not arguing that Clinton didn't have a good economy.

i'm arguing that he signed legislature that allowed/forced banks and lenders to make bad loans to people that couldn't pay them off and that crashed the economy. sub prime mortgage bill is the root of the cause, but definitely not all to blame.

We didn't elect a Grandaddy of the United States. We didn't elect a Next Door Neighbor of the United States. We elected a President of the United States.
Why do people go into the Aunt Pittypat vapors when he says something not endorsed by Emily Post? Americans claim they want a politician to "tell it like it is" and then freak out when we elect one.

Greenspan called it "irrational exuberance" and it caused a big correctiona as i recall back in the 90's I think, maybe sometime in the 2000's.

Clinton didn't have a good economy until the Republicans won the House and got his arse in line.

There's telling it like it is and being straight with the country, and then there's being an irrational, boisterous, pompous jackass who doesn't tell it like it is and instead makes shite up, denies what is true, attempts to shout others down, and embarrasses himself and the country with petty bullshite.

I'm a moderate and was pleasantly surprised when he won, even though I didn't vote for either of the candidates, but Trump is a jackass and an embarrassment.

When in the last 60 years was this not the case?

That jackass and embarrassment is finally bringing jobs back to your economically deprived midwest shithole after decades of those states voting democrat and wondering why things were getting worse.

I'm a Libertarian leaning conservative but I did consider Trump to be the better of the 2 options despite his somewhat abrasive tactics. I still feel this way.

he can be an embarrassment and jackass to you all he wants.

oh no, i don't have the warm fuzzies because of the word shithole. economy is up, unemployment is down, taxes are lowered, NoKo STFU, and ISIS isn't really heard of much these days.

everybody is so hell bent on losing their shite over what a 70 year old loudmouth said on twitter, that they're not paying a lick of attention to anything that matters.

So his behavior and priorities meet the bar for what you expect out of our leader and the leader of the free world? Must have a pretty low bar. I can only imagine the howls that would be coming from the right if Obama said/did even 1/10 the stuff Trump does.

And this is why political discussions get so repetitive...if it's your guy in office and something good happens it's all because of him, yet if something bad happens it wasn't his fault. As I posted above the market went gangbusters under Reagan, Clinton, and Obama. Were the latter great presidents who improved the economy?

(As it stands, Illinois is still solidly blue and only getting worse.)

US market has lagged behind international markets since Trump's election. So much for MAGA.

This is true. I guess I’ve just lived as an adult through 2 pretty significant downturns and came out much better than before but I’m a lot older now and really don’t want to have a 3rd time. But I own much more dirt these days which I’m more comfortable with.

The Dow only gained 500 points the last 2 years of Obama's presidency and the democrats and media lied to us saying Obama's anemic 1.5-2% economic growth was the new normal.

Do you see how you're picking and choosing how to assess? There are so many variables, moving parts, and people involved that you can try to paint any picture you want.
