Will sand mess with a decent speaker too bad, I was leaning cheap and damn near disposable. But if the better ones can survive I may get something s little nicer, thanks all for the input

Ecoxgear makes some great speakers. Waterproof, float, long battery life, at good sizes and good prices.

I freaking love my Jawbone, Big Jambox. 15 hours per charge. Fully integrated with iPhone.

I've taken my bose speaker eveywhere, used to have an 50 dollar ihome which is pretty cool too. If you want something durable go with the amazon post earlier

Second the vote for Jawbone Big Jambox. Insane amount of sound coming out of a relatively small speaker and the battery lasts forever.

my wife bought me one of amazon , the brand is altec i use it in my boat and brought it to the beach a couple weeks ago ... its small about 2+8" with realy good sound ...
takes blue tooth also .....
btw its an altec lansing with floating life jacket , its waterproof ..... $113.00 on amazon

UE Boom Water resistant great sound good battery life...I love mine it is about the size of a 16oz beer
