That was a cheerleading gym owner, Jason Galjour. I think it was called Precise Athletes?

AIM seems to garner favorable commentary so must be doing some good thing.

Wife was told by a friend that Cypress Pointe has some terrific accomplishments despite being in a small market, may look at them if we settle east of BR. Hear they have placed several girls in SEC programs.

Daughter is a competitive gymnast. Moved from Gymnaisiana to LA Gold and love the positive atmosphere. I highly recommend LA Gold. Great owner and coaches.

LA gold was opened by a mom with no gymnastics experience who was mad at Gymnasiana. It is a glorified rec gym. It’s a nice, clean facility, but they can’t coach above compulsory levels.

Gymnasiana. I could write a book. The owner is out of her mind crazy. The stories coming out of that place are so awful that I can’t believe it’s still open. She used to have a homeschool, but she threw a tantrum and ran off and abandoned all of her gymnasts. They all quit. It’s too bad because they were really good. The owner manipulated a bunch of new gym moms into their 7 year olds checking out of school for level 2. I can’t believe any school would let level 2 and 3 check out of school. That’s a racket. And she will let anyone who pays do it. She mostly only has compulsory kids left. They will all win every meet because they go a thousand hours more than any other gym in the state, and then all the kids will quit on level 7 just like every other kid that woman has coached. The cycle continues. So don’t waste your time there.

AIM is probably the best place. Really Louisiana doesn’t have any strong gymnastics programs. It’s too bad since they have such a great college team.

level 2 and 3

Can someone explain "levels" in gymnastics is this the equivalent to AAU basketball age groups and such like 17U or baseball travel team "levels".

Had sisters that did all that just supported at the meets but could not tell you anything whether one routine or whatever its called was better than the last just clapped regardless. What is the end goal for most of these girls? College schollies? Or just something to do competitively growing up that they love?

Not saying anything bad just honestly curious with the amount of money that goes into these "programs"

So a gymnastics place has their own home school? I’m okay with that if they are Olympic caliber athletes, but for the run of the mill good gymnast, that seems crazy.

Pretty sure the owner of that gym got arrested for raping girls who went to the gym. There was a thread on here when it happened

With what is available in Louisiana, a college scholarship is pretty hard to come by. For the big college programs, most of those girls were at the elite level, and they drop back to level 10 to be eligible for a college team.

We don’t have AAU in Louisiana. Most of the gyms have xcel (not college track) or JO team. JO is compulsory levels 1-5 and then optional levels 6-10. Checking out of school to go 16 hours for compulsory levels is a joke and a racket. My daughter did compulsory levels going at night and half the hours did just fine. The optional levels are the levels that count. Most of the programs here can’t get gymnasts to level 10. Elite used to be the place to go, but that guy sold his gym and barely coaches now. I hear cypress pointe and north shore can do it, but those places aren’t in Baton Rouge. AIM has had some level 10s in the past. The coach at gymnasiana has never had any level 10s, and from the stories I have heard, I can’t imagine she will ever have a level 10. The parents at gymnasiana think because the kids win on level 3 that they have an Olympic gymnast, but pretty much any kid can be coached to do well on those low levels with enough hours and repetition.

Not anymore. She ran away so the whole homeschool fell apart. And what is over there now is not Olympic caliber!

I never heard about anyone getting raped ever, but physical and verbal abuse of the kids. Not a healthy place. They never did background checks, and they had a convicted felon bank robber working at the desk. I didn’t believe that myself, but I googled the woman’s name, and it was actually true.

My daughter went from loving Gymnasiana for 7/8 years and competing really well to extreme anxiety and fear 2/3 months after that woman took over from Richard . It was sad to watch. And I could not believe parents were doing that homeschool gym crap instead of legitimate academics . Now my daughter does gym at her High School on a casual level and helps teach kids gymnastics and she has that kind of innocent love of the sport back.

Any info on Bengal Gymnastics? Apparently they’re affiliated in some way with the LSU gym program..?

Yeah sorry I meant AAU basketball, like there are different levels to that which are pretty self explanatory even to known basketball guys.

Thank you for the info I meant in laymans terms you say some gyms can put out or teach "Level 10" gymnasts, Im sorry for my ignorance I do not know what that signifies.

What can a Level 10 gymnast do that a level 9 one cannot. In layman's terms even though I had to go for years to that stuff meaning meets and picking sisters up at practice. Can you explain a Level 1, 3, 5,7, 10 what are the differences, is it age? Like are these levels like karate or something, or is it if you can do certain routines or moves that you attain that level.

Like that statement made absolutely no sense to me logically. You are saying they took a step back, as in they chose to not be the best they can to be "eligible" for college. If you are Elite does that mean you get paid or something. Why do not just keep being elite gymnasts and beat all of the girls that are Level 10? am I understanding that correct

That sounds about right. I hope nobody associates mr. Richard with the current gymnasiana because he has nothing to do with gymnasiana now.

The facility at LSU is beautiful. They have no experienced coaches and can’t get them past level 7. I wonder if they purposefully can’t do high levels since DD Breaux owns the gym program. Wouldn’t it be an NCAA violation to recruit from her own program? It just sucks that there isn’t very much here for girls who love gymnastics.

Haven't they made the Final Four of Gymnastics like 3 or 4 years in a row what do you mean they are not experienced? Again the levels stuff so the girls that perform at LSU are all Level 7 and lower?
