I'm pretty big into shoes. I'll do it when I see a nice pair.

True, but most men really aren't that into clothing.

Which is unfortunate. I think dressing nicely should be a thing everyone is into.

I mean, how often do you really look at a man's shoes?

In business? All the time.

Study with fixation? Naw.

Me as well. Sometimes in downtown Seattle I'll see someone wearing a nice pair and I want to stop and ask them what they are wearing.

"taking pride in your appearance" does not require $500 shoes.

But if that's your thing, go right ahead. But just saying.

People usually invest money in things that are important and/or necessary.

Someone who has to wear a suit and dress shoes every day CAN buy a cheap suit and shoes with rubber soles, but where will he be in 6 to 9 months? Back at the store buying more cheap clothes and shoes. Why? Because the materials are cheap, made with less care, and not meant to last.

More expensive shoes look nicer, fit more true, last longer, and are FAR more comfortable. Same with suits.

If you're going to spend the majority of your profesional adult life in a certain type of garment, you might as well take pride in it and be more practical about it.

I used to dress nice and was really into clothes. At work and off work. Now I have no dress code and wear shorts and t-shirts every day. It's fricking awesome.

When I'm in the courthouse, I don't have to. I can hear the difference.

I don't disagree, but who the hell still has to wear a suit everyday these days?

We need a real OT male fashion thread. Similar to the whiskey thread on the F&DB

Dressing "nicely" is highly subjective.

Magnanni. These are the best kept secret of the shoe world.

Most on the board that like nice shows will say Allen Edmonds. Having owned both, Magnanni are the best. Cost about $300.
