Deflecting and trying to throw blame on someone else.

also... an interesting quote from DeSantis... putting out a theory that this building had design issues when originally built and that it was doomed to failure from the start
I'm sure that is great news for the people living in the sister building just a couple of blocks away. I know a lot of them have already evacuated...

1 of the deceased who has been identified was an 80-year-old structural engineer who lived on the 12th floor

pretty sure I saw that soon after the collapse... the city had an engineer go and look at the other Champlain Towers condo buildings and deemed them safe
don't know if that helped settle any nerves of those residents... but it apparently was done

Yeah, that would still not be good enough for me.

Well here's a bit of amazing news...
Cat missing after Surfside condo collapse found alive
He was from a 9th floor unit where some family members survived but one is among the missing. Pretty incredible.

Just using maps app there looked to be some differences with length of building & pool deck west to east that over the years and based on any difference with maintenance may not have caused similar issues in parking lot.
The building at 88th that collapsed seemed longer west to east than than similar building a block north on 89. The pool deck was also longer (main part and not just walk way) and crossed completely over & past entrance/exit lane going under center section of building that along with plant boxes ended fairly close above parking spots where the pool worker noticed water collecting in days before collapse (maybe same area in 2018 report not sure). It was the additional part of pool deck extended over entrance/exit under building that first collapsed.
The pool deck on 89th seems to stop either just at ramp/entrance/lane going below center section of building to parking or just barely crossing a little over it (view in app was angled). They have some plants next to east wing but seem right next to building and not true planter boxes further out on deck. It also doesn’t have some other type of planter type boxes or similar sectioning off an uncovered patio close to above the older issues in parking below like one on 88th.
From above the building at 89th looks like it has one less center section (maybe just from design from top and outside look versus what was in section) and different balconies on south side of center section (connected all the way to section starting with smaller lower roof right off elevator shaft and down) and the east wing/section closest to the beach has less floors from the top with balconies going completely across to center section on south side of building.
88th building had a larger lower roof space right off elevator shaft compared to the one at 89th & over one the extra sections in middle, and where it meets the raised roof of next section is also inline with end of pool deck and also close to being above reported water in garage (and maybe close to 2018 report issues). This also extended a little past the SW wing and was more exposed to sea air blowing in.
Apple Maps is not a great way to look at them to compare with satellite view plus it’s 3D view makes everything warped, so they might not be as different as i thought when looking initially.

Is she the one on phone with husband telling him about loud sounds or something like that when phone disconnected?
I didn’t know she was originally from Kenner.

YouTube - Analysis of Recently Uploaded Video of July 2020 Viewing - Including Video of Garage Where Collapse Might Have Started
there was so much "leaking" into the garage that someone put a cover on their car while inside the garage... and that's with corrugated plastics being used on the garage ceiling to divert leaking water away from other cars.
yeah... this dude's analysis of this summer 2020 video seems to show some serious warning signs were being ignored

With the site basically clear of all debris and rescue teams heading back home...
96 bodies pulled from the rubble
1 additional person died at the hospital
97 total fatalities
1 person still unaccounted for
Miami-Dade Police have now taken control of the site for the criminal investigation

Wasn’t the reported missing number like 140 at one point? Did some people (presumed missing) end up being found alive?
I haven’t been following.

Wonder what this will entail that the PD can investigate. I figure any investigating possible would be beyond their scope.
