Yes, just one run and obviously there needs to be consistency but for something this major to be showing up there has to be some smoke to this fire, right?

Also, the Canadian model is showing some pretty cold air intrusion coming up as well.

6:00 am December 19

12:00 am December 20th

The Canadian model ends right there. The GFS has us 22 degrees warmer at the same time.

EURO at 6:00pm shows us at 44.

Forget the storm, I'm just happy there is a chance it won't be 75+ for Christmas Day.

Yep. It seems like it's been several years since we've had even a moderately cool Christmas Day.

Except that prediction is for December 20th. Five days later and it’s likely to be 85 degrees

December 22 - 64/43
December 23 - 66/46
December 24 - 69/49

I did, pal.

If you go look at the rest of the model, it shows it being in the 50s for Christmas Day with another front coming on the 26.

Are people here EVER going to learn the difference between official forecasts and model runs?

I’m already over the cold that came in today.

Bring back yesterday’s temps.

Damn, gfs has about a 36-hour ice storm for NTX and Ok... .5" to 1.5" (liquid) qpf but all as freezing rain. Hopefully it's just a fantasyland run.

Nah, no smoke and no fire. Never trust a model showing snow in the South unless it's a mesoscale model within 24 hours of the event.

I always take those with a grain of slat in the winter. Seems like the models always have a deep cold front in the 12-15 day range that more than not never materialize.

A model run 11 days out, I'd bet money on the exact opposite to occur.
So, sunny and highs in the 70's

You can't trust any forecast 2 weeks out. Too many variables out there
