Exactly why I did not kill it. I think this is the same one I saw last year but about 1/4 of the size it is now. Scared the shite out of me yesterday though. If it doesnt mess with then I typically leave nature alone especially if its beneficial. I just have this scenario going on in my head that im gonna be out there and this fricker falls from the rafters and lands on me.

This one was on my back porch a few weeks ago. Don't know what it got, but it had a good meal.

Not that anyone would know, but it’s illegal to relocate them, in SC anyway.

I think you're confusing the rat snake with a hognose. Those guys definitely put on a show, but even they won't strike at you until the very last second. They just act bad arse but they're softies in the snake world.

Better than rats in your house.

A rat snake literally poses no threat to you.

If you find a snake in your house, it's because you have a food source, mice or rats. You're better off with him than those pests, dumbass.

Leave him be. He will indeed keep rodents from causing you trouble in your garage. Mice/Rats love chewing on wires- which can be an expensive problem. He'll keep them away.

Other than maybe startle you unexpectedly ( ), he's harmless and a friend.
