And its a growing trend, people are simply listening to rap and hip hop more than ever.

quote:

If you need any proof of hip-hop’s streaming dominance, look no further than Billboard’s year-end Streaming Songs Artists chart for 2018. Of the 25 acts featured on the 2018 list, 17 are rappers, exceeding the 15-rapper mark set in 2017. The top 10 features eight of those musicians, including the entire top four.

quote:

Additionally, on the 75-position year-end Streaming Songs chart, 50 songs come from the hip-hop genre, up from 40 in 2017.

quote:

And they weren’t just slow-builders, either; in 2018, 11 songs debuted at No. 1 on Streaming Songs, 10 of them hip-hop songs. Only four did so in 2017 (three rap) and two in 2016 (neither rap).

Apple agreed the same, among the top 25 most streamed songs on Apple Music,
quote:

An incredible 20 of the top 25 most streamed songs in 2018 where rap songs.

quote:

An incredible 20 of the top 30 most streamed albums in 2018 where rap albums.

quote:

Two of spotifys most featured playlist where rap playlists.

quote:

Spotify announced Emo Rap was the genre that grew the most in 2018

quote:

4 of Spotify's top artists where Rap, 5 of 5 if you count Khalid.
.

Spotify's top 5 songs where rap, and top 5 albums where also rap as well

Absolute dominance in the music scene

Not on my devices.
Not 1 preset on my SXM unit.

I quote the West Texas Rednecks: "Rap is crap".

Damn what godawful shite.

Just googled the list and sampled plenty of them. 6ix9, Ariana grande, meek, lil baby... never even heard of those people outside of Ariana grande. every song is terrible. Was expecting to see Drake and Kendrick Lamar based off OP and like a lot of their songs but after listening to those samples their shite obviously isn’t hood enough to be considered rap
