ITT, there's a bunch of old people, coonasses and rednecks that crank their stereo up when Florida Georgia line comes on the radio, but say rap is garbage and they love to hate on it.

Never listened to Florida Georgia Line (they've been shite on in this thread several times btw) and I don't think rap is universally garbage. I do think most of the rap that's popular today is garbage.

As shitty as bro country is it's not glorifying the crap that rap music does.

Did you know the percentage of white people in the country is continuously getting smaller?

Expect more garbage rap in the future.

rap is horrible, compared to the late 80's, early 90's.
It was horrible back then as well.

Nothing but garbage music.
I mean, seriously, what would be considered the iconic songs of the last 10 years? Blurred Lines?

actually the fascinating thing is people waxing nostalgic about rap:

"This music today sucks. Not like the rap when I was a kid."

In a way, I'm thankful I predate rap as mainstream music.
Although, I remember quite a few white guys that really liked the Run-DMC version of Walk This Way better than Aerosmith's original when it was released in 1986.

except that they come here and quickly assimilate

chuck berry expected a big latin wave in music sixty years ago - that's why he wrote songs w/titles like "Havana Moon" and "Hey Pedro"

But it never happens.

the black minority that moves pop culture in this country hates mexicans, and presumably takes out that hate on latin music

add that to the quick latin assimilation and it prevents latin music from getting a foothold here

It gets dumber by the year, which is indicative of how we’ve become as a society. Shallow and self absorbed. We’ve got some self reflection to do, all of us.
I don't know about reflection, but I think a music renaissance is coming soon. Disco and the 80's is what caused the musical renaissance of the 90's and early 2000's. I can see top 40 radio and rap being the driving force this go round.
