So I know how much the internet has done for business/social climate/connecting the world.

But everyday I see things that blow my mind. People get destroyed for things that would have gone unnoticed years ago. Example is the Uber girl who was wasted and now is jobless and bashed without remorse on the internet. Businesses can be reviewed and bashed by people who can remain nameless. Young kids now have to take the bullying home with them.

I guess my question is will this ever change? I just feel like people should have to own what they say. Or is it going to just get progressively worse like it seems to be doing?

So do you have your own room at the retirement home or do you have to share with someone?

Our society is certainly adapting to this new thing, presently not for the better, but hopefully with time we'll hit some kind of reasonable state.

I'm not that old. I just think its wrong I could sit here for example and make 20 fake Yelp accounts and hurt some small business owners family living. Its just an example but same with bashing that Uber girl.

I mean, that's the thing now. The internet is now a public forum.

So people need to act like it is one now, otherwise there will be consequences.

It's just a never ending negative feedback loop.

Removes all of the social fear/etiquette that we've developed over the last 200k+ years.

That dumbass is/was a doctor, and it is drilled into their heads throughout the whole process that they are held to a much higher standard, right or not. Unless she came out of a cave and went straight to med school, she's aware of cameras, the internet, etc.

Maybe, just maybe, she shouldn't have been beating up on the Uber driver, then she wouldn't be facing the possibility of losing her job.

And like I said, once her story dies down, she'll enter into an addictions program specifically designed for medical professionals, and in 3 years, she'll be back working with full time pay.

Different world. People have to understand that now. ANYONE can become famous for being an a-hole.

That bitch was stupid. She would have gotten a slap if any of the local news had gotten hold of the story, but it wouldn't be this bad.

Cole simple rules.

1. Don't be an a-hole.

2. Everything dies down. Somebody else will get drunk and do something stupid and the reddits and 4chans and forums of the world will move on. She just has to wait it out. May cost her a job but not a career. In Florida where this happened she can't put the toothpaste back in the tube. She would always be "that doc who flipped her shite". I wouldn't want to be "that doc" or "that anything".
