NOLA is culturally and economically one of the most important cities in the US. Population-wise,if you include Tangipahoa Parish (which some do and some don't) the NOLA metropolitan area is comparable to Jacksonville, FL and Milwaukee, WI.

In are NOLA, Lafayette and certain suburbs around NOLA.
BR is not my thing but it is okay.
Shreveport and LC are borderline unlivable to me.
Monroe and Alexandria are laughable

I wouldn't live anywhere else in Louisiana since my family there is all in new Orleans. I'd just live someplace else if It wasn't in the metro area of nola. Likely not moving back there either.
