re: Rank these "major" cities in LA in order of which you would live:

I'm just following the OP's guidelines. It would take a lot for me to live in a place like Alexandria, Monroe, LC or Shreveport.

Lake Charles is closer to the other areas in the state, where I have family and would rather spend my time. If I'm living in one of these shitty places, I might as well live closer to somewhere that I would enjoy because I'll be traveling there often.

ETA: it's the same reason why I listed Alexandria above Monroe. The proximity to Lafayette/New Orleans played a major role.

ETA2: the only 3 that I would consider living in are New Orleans, Lafayette, or Baton Rouge. After that, my rankings are irrelevant.

For the record, I actually despise Lake Chuck.... Aside from the casinos (which get old quick), there is ZERO to do. New restaurants can't, and won't, make it because people are so set in their ways. The traffic is horrible because the city has done a shitty job of planning for the growth that they are experiencing (which was known about), and it's small enough where everyone is in everyone else's business. On the other hand, being able to go wake boarding after school, GREAT fishing and hunting was a major plus....
