Having frequented all three...

Hammond is number one.

Opelousas and Jennings fight for a distant second.

Opelousas has turned to shite much faster than Jennings, however.

What has happened to Opelousas and North Lafayette pisses me off to no end. That entire section of 1-49 is turning into a third world.

Opelousas

It's a pretty little town with a lot of actual history to it. It is sort of sad to realize that places like it are all but doomed.

I was born near Opelousas. Can confirm that place has been a shithole for much longer than I’ve been on this earth

Back when Collier was police chief, my grandfather used to tell me: “Whoopi Goldberg and Chief Collier called off their wedding. She didn’t want to be named Whoopi Collier”

You are correct. TONS of history that was preserved. About 35 years ago, I did a social studies project on it and was astounded at what place in LA history it had.

Fast forward to now, many of these places that were on historical registries aren't being maintained at all, and in some cases, looted.

I'll just stop here.

Opelousas has Mamas fried chicken which is better than anything in either of those other two places. Opelousas wins.
