I would dare to say that a person could have the same quality of life in any of those states. If you're a professional in Louisiana, how is that different from being a professional in South Carolina? Or if you're a garbage man in Florida, how is that different from being a garbage man in Texas?

I'd rather live here in South Louisiana than anywhere else in the South. At least people here don't talk funny.

My top 5 ranked with 1 being the best overall, not worst.
5. Tennessee - landlocked, but big cities, treat outdoors and lots of stuff to do
4. Florida - big cities, great beaches, the keys, saltwater fishermans wet dream, but it's still Florida.
3. Georgia - great golf, outdoors, good offshore and inshore fishing, Atlanta, Magic City
2. LA - NO, culcha, close to home, fishin, gambling, lots of extended family
1. Texas

Better fishing, better choices to indulge in LA. Otherwise, I agree with your post.

I suppose it depends on what qualities one bases their ranking.

This is more my order of where I would want to live.
1. Mississippi - shithole, self explanatory
2. Missouri - just don't have interest here
3. Arkansas - haven't spent much time here, want to check out the hill country
4. Alabama - Even though North Alabama is somewhat ok, I don't want to live in this state, ever.
5. Texas - absolutely no interest to live in this state. Would like it to be lower, but it faces some stiff competition at the bottom.
6. Kentucky - eh, some areas aren't bad
7. Louisiana - this seems way too high, but a lot of my family lives here and love the food. I really don't ever want to live in this state again though.
8. Florida - Some of my wife's family lives here and there are a couple of places I would think about living
9. South Carolina - Northwest SC is very similar to the next two, Charleston area isn't bad either.
10. Georgia - Like some areas of North Georgia, Kinda interested in an area like Savannah.
11. Tennessee - Moved here for a reason, love East Tennessee.

Are you a guide on the Ocoee?

It is easy to make blanket statement about states, but I really think that the area around where you live is what really matters
From houston, I can pretty easily make day trips to galveston, San antonio, austin, dallas, or acadiana. To me, that provides some solid versatity.

I despise houston, but you can't deny the location is prime.
