This thread is about ranking cities you've visited, not all the cities you had a connecting flight in.
Boston, Chicago, Denver, DC, Frisco, Phoenix, Miami, Seattle, Charlotte, Dallas, Atlanta = Saints away games, although I have been to Chicago, Denver and Boston multiple times.
So yeah, not just connecting cities.
You want more? How about Vancouver, Honolulu, Maui, Venice, Rome, Athens, Crete, Barcelona and a hell of a lot more.

All major American cities are run by democrats and they show it. I rank all of the cities I've been last.

SF is definitely better than LA - I do love them both though. SF is the Rome of America.

Everything is liberal as frick out there. They tax everything to pay for abortions and they won't let you have your guns and everyone thinks they're better than you. frick those places.

Literally every great city in the world is liberal, bro.

America has only three cities: New York, San Francisco, and New Orleans. Everywhere else is Cleveland.

The only great cities in the world which are run by "conservatives" are in Muslim countries. Try Raqqa sometime - I hear it's lovely in July, which also doubles as "throw homosexuals off the tallest building" season.

If by "great city" you mean "immoral wasteland" then yeah I agree. frick those places for taking all our tax dollars.

That's a serious list
FWIW, the following are Alpha level cities from something called GAWC only includes the following for the US:
NYC
LA
Chicago
SF
DC
Boston
Miami
Atlanta
Dallas, Houston and Philly are just outside.

Atlanta is shitty IMO. Replace Atlanta with Seattle or Houston and it's perfect. And I think you need to add NOLA as the token "deep southern" city.

Los Angeles is an acquired taste. Not my scene. I enjoy cities around LA though (Malibu, Long Beach, the beach towns just north of Camp Pendleton).
Yeah, add HB and that's how I am. LA proper though, I don't get the appeal.
Generally when people refer to LA, at minimum they mean everything within LA county, ie Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, Malibu, Pasadena, etc. Sometimes people will liberally expand the term LA to include parts of Orange County.

DC
San Francisco
San Diego
Boston
Seattle
Denver
The other major US cities are not anything I necessarily "like."

I kind of went through the thread and it seems like this is the consensus ranking right now:
1. NYC
2. SF
3. Chicago
4. NOLA
5. Seattle/Boston
Kind of surprised that Chicago is so high - I love the Loop and the near North, but man outside of that it SUCKS like New Jersey. And I'm currently interviewing for jobs that will relocated me to Chicago. Also glad that Seattle is getting the love it deserves. I'd suspect that NOLA is skewed slightly higher here than it would be on a forum from any other area of the country and that Miami might replace it on most forums.

I don't think I've ever had a bad time living/visiting a city, to be honest.
(1) Minneapolis, MN - winter is brutal, but as someone that has lived in the north my entire life, that is something I have become accustomed to. Minneapolis is a very clean city, well-laid out, an abundance of restaurants/breweries, lies on the Mississippi, a lot of recreational opportunities with the Greenway bike paths and Lake Calhoun.
(2) Austin, TX - I have a few college friends that currently live there and they've always described it as a place just like Madison with year-round, warm weather. I visited for the first time a couple years ago and wholeheartedly agreed. Rainey Street is terrific, went on a party barge on Lake Travis, had some terrific BBQ, and my buddy had a great view of the skyline from across the Colorado River.
(3) Madison, WI - capital city that is situated on an isthmus between two lakes. Along with Athens and Austin, Madison is consistently rated as one of the top college towns/cities in the country. From the Farmers Market on Capitol Square, to State Street, to pedestrian-friendly paths, and a picturesque college campus, it's high on the list for me.
(4) Chicago, IL - this is a city where you can great vantage points of the skyline from countless numbers of places. Though there are plenty of bars/clubs downtown and in River North, I like how Chicago is considered more of a 'neighborhood city.' Lakeshore Path is always great for a run or bike ride and there is some type of festival every weekend in the summer.
(5) New York, NY - love to visit NYC, but don't think I could live there. My parents live just outside of the city, which is perfect when I go home. I have a great time down in the East Village and I do like all the patio spots in Brooklyn. It's just so. damn. crowded.
I think I'll just stick to this five, but I also really like DC, Phoenix/Scottsdale, Los Angeles, Boston, Burlington, and Denver.
I've been to several cities in Florida, but I've honestly never really been anywhere else in the Southeast.

Atlanta is not shitty and is far superior to Seattle in a lot of ways (although I ranked Seattle ahead). I do agree that Houston has more economic might than Atlanta, though Atlanta is preferable to Houston IMO.
Atlanta, Dallas and Houston are all kind of in the same boat to me. All strong economic cities with lots of growth opportunities that are all very attractive to business right now. All have good professional opportunities. All have warm climates, largely likable locals, and are centralized in differing ways. They've all supplanted other US cities in importance, and probably will knock off a few more (Boston, Philly, depending on where you rank them now).
Dallas has better governance and is more posh, Atlanta is more aesthetically pleasing and closer to differing landscapes, Houston has the most muscle.

This is just clearly wrong. There's no way you can say that Philly is a better city than NYC. The terrorists will never attack Philadelphia because they know that no one gives a shite and that the Eagle fans may have had it coming.

4. NOLA
Why I broke up my ranking. I don't think very many people aspire to live in New Orleans. But it is a unique American city and a great destination city.
Places like Chicago and Seattle, and to a lesser extent SF and NYC, are ahead IMO because they're both desirable to visit and are livable.
