The GTD is basically a GT500 with carbon fiber body panels, a wider track and a bunch of racecar parts hung on it.

Admittedly the GTD has the most extreme equipment/setup of the 3, but it was created using pretty much the exact same formula that the other two cars use. The basic idea of the GTD is not revolutionary, Ford just took it further than any American company ever has, certainly .

All GT class racecars start out as the road versions.

Got to ride as a passenger on a hot lap w/ a pro driver in a new 911 GT3 RS at Barber Motorsports Park.

It was the most violent mechanical experience I've ever had, including 8 gs in an F-15.
