I’m in the market for a new truck since my 06 F250 is starting to have a few issues.

This is the most taxing thing i have done in a while.

Do you realize on 4x4 GM trucks that they don’t come with 4-low unless you buy the extra X31 or Z71 package!?

This is mind numbing to me......
Am I out of bounds on this to expect a 4x4 truck to come with 4-low and now have to pay extra for it?

I pull a tractor pretty often, and a lot of times I have to go off road while pulling it.

that's far from the biggest problem with GM trucks. As an owner of gmc sierra (with z71 package), run as fast and as far as you can from any gm made vehicle.

And an abysmal open diff with an electronic locker.

I own a Tundra so not a hater but the open diff can get stuck on wet grass.

ETA: Actually it use the abs to provide an electronic version of a limited slip differential. Better than nothing but not a substitute for a real LSD.

I was actually thinking about moving away from an F-250 to a half ton.

The weight of stuff I pull is between 6-8k lbs.
Is a half ton capable?

The F-150 can tow more than any other pickup in its class, gas or diesel.* The available second-generation 3.5L EcoBoost® twin-turbo V6, at 375 horsepower and top-rated* 470 lb.-ft. of torque, has a conventional tow rating of 13,200 lbs. And the 3.0L Power Stroke® Turbo Diesel, rated at 250 horsepower and 440 lb.-ft. of torque, features a conventional tow rating at 11,400 lbs.*

My truck rant is the lack of a 6.5' bed with a true double cab.

You can get a 6.5 ft bed on a F150, even with a crew cab. It's a sled though.
