I've read some criticisms, and the study isn't without its flaws, it's actually still ongoing. But it's the only study of its kind that we have at the moment, so it's a good topic when you're talking about shite like this.

The two main problems I've read are small sample size and relying on police reports which many don't trust. So take it for what it's worth but he's doing research in a bunch of other cities right now including New York, so hopefully he'll have something more conclusive soon.

I agree. The other thing is really not knowing what lead to the police pulling over the individual at the time..it starts after the fact which you will never know honestly.

It will be good to see the others as they become available.

Really? A country where 200 million people are white have over double the white victims of police shootings than black people who make up around 12.3% of the population?

Who didn't realistically assume this was the case? There are around 160 million more of us. I keep seeing this posted places like it's relevant at all.

In fact, it could be argued that it shows that a group making up 12.3% of the population have 1/4 of the people included in that number. I'm not arguing for or anyone in this one, but other than that, there's nothing surprising about this.

I called my in-laws in North Carolina.

Pretended to care if they were ok.

Really just wanted to make sure the NASCAR HoF was unscathed.

J/k, but I did check on 'em

It's probably impossible the conduct a perfect study on a topic like this just Bc the data will never be perfect. But to hear BLM et al describe it, there's a genocide by cops against black men. Kaepernick describes it as "bodies in the street" and he's now a hero. Surely this study, however small the sample size, would at least indicate something so sever.

This is why we should be uniting together as one people against these actions and all demanding overhaul of the system rather than dividing among racial lines.

Its disgusting

One would think. But the statistics didn't match the hyperbole, as they often don't, so the study got buried. And now anyone who wants reasonable police reform gets their voice drowned out by BLM and other counter productive actors.

It's our professional wrestling style politics, hooray.

Not to get all wiki, but the saying is true "if democracy could ever change anything, it would be immediately outlawed".

I'm just surprised this is the first you are seeing that. It's been posted on here repeatedly.

Sad thing is the media will blatantly cover up the statistics and outright lie to keep things for ratings.

And they've done it so much that if you bring up the statistics they call it racist. I watch a Facebook argument the other day where one guy actually claimed that the statistics were made up be white people to make them feel better.
