Clearly you don't know what investing means. ROI does come immediately And not everyone is a producer. Is the CEO of certain corporations really worth 50 million a year plus stock options? Is that extra .5 percent raise on Dividend really worth not giving your employees a cost of living wage?
Then don’t work for a large corporation.
And someone thinks the CEO is adding that value.
You know what the CEO is NOT doing? Bitching about how hard his or her life has been.
Nick Saban makes a ridiculous amount of money because he brings value to Bama.
CBK makes insane money because he has a 30 year history of bringing value.
If you produce less than you take, you aren’t in a sustainable role.

Im an older millennial, and i get it. Work/life balance. Makes no sense to go above and beyond and put in more hours than is needed.
I suppose this approach is fine, so long as you don't care about being exceptional.
Typical union worker attitude. Do the bare minimum, take no pride in your work, have no competitive streak.
Most men are very competitive and will want to be the best at what they do. Evidently this isn't universal.

You just said it wasn't, but you also don't know what the words you use mean so I'm not surprised you didn't realize that

What an illiterate retard. Do some googling, you'll figure it out.

Because a bunch of millennials are enjoying their “work/life balance” by shite posting on the OT, while a bunch of boomers (like me) are telling them they are lazy entitled pieces of shite.
There is likely some truth in both sides.

Yep. See government workers.

You can't understand basic language and blame everyone one else.
You're dumb. You're not afraid to show it either. Universal has a very specific meaning.

That doesn't answer a single point of contention in this thread brought up by boomers.

Especially since “quiet quitting” is just a trendy term for “doing the bare minimum” which many if not most people already practice. Nothing revolutionary.

Roger is what the productive members of society would refer to as a “taker”

I did have a privilege you did not.
No one ever told me I was entitled to a goddamn thing. And I never thought so.
That is a huge advantage.

I get The Who gives a crap attitude. Most young folks have heard the same thing I have in the last 10 years.
1st year - here is a $1000 raise for COLA
7 years - oh we don’t have the money for raises, but ignore our balance sheets where we took all that money from the government and pocketed it. We know you took on even more responsibility the last few years and should be paid accordingly, and have grown out business but we just can’t afford it.
Year 8 - oh here is a 6% raise to try and hang on tk you even though it’s just half of what you’ve lost to inflation since you’ve been here.
Why should I be committed to that company? I’ll continue to bust my tail but they are crazy if They think I’m sticking around.

Agree.
Worrying daily that you could fail is a big time motivator. There was no safety net.

Never bust your arse for the company. Do it for yourself. It’s not rocket science.
Work hard early to develop skills someone needs. Sell those skills. It can be law or radiology or plumbing or A/C repair.
If you slot yourself in a punch the clock job for a major corporation, you are unlikely to get anywhere. It’s easier than other paths. It will never pay.
