I think masks are stupid and only wear them when forced to. I also ignore 3 of the 5 on your list

Let's examine this statement:
He's right, people think a mask is the be all end all of I'm not going to get sick or get other people sick. Those who work in security know security is about layers and a mask it a layer of protection, it helps..it's not the end all be all.
Basically he's saying, people are to dumb to wear a mask right so therefore it doesn't work. He's not straight up saying mask don't work.
You are extrapolating mask don't work from, the general population isn't used to mask and don't know how to use them correctly so they don't do much. Which is correct, but it doesn't mean we shouldn't try and do better.

Sure have and generally it’s just a fortuitous situation. Severity of accidents increases with speed. That’s why there are speed limits which are generally understood to be a fair trade off between the risk and the need to get places. As a society, it’s been accepted that 70 mph is that limits on interstates.
Kinda like spreading germs. They spread easier without a mask. A mask, plus distance, plus hand washing or cleaning is almost impossible to spread germs.

I knew, but I was ignorant as to better precautions. Wearing a mask didn't really enter my mind to do it during flu season. I certainly didn't go out if I thought for a second I had the flu. Now, I know better so I'll do better.
