How do you deal with a-hole kids? I have one that has a shitty attitude and talks shite to his teammates. He isn't that talented. I have already screamed at him. You guys just manage him or what?

Sit the bench.

Simple as that.

Oh, find your balls first.

Beat up his dad.

Then say you're next if things don't change.

Address this with him first directly and if it doesn't change meet with his parents. Explain to them how it's gonna go (arse on the pine).

How old?

And another lesson...

When doing rec/little/travel league draft/recruiting, draft/recruit the parents, not the players.

How old is the kid?

Bench him and if he has a problem with that he can exit the team.

No. These are 6-7 year olds. Next step is setting with his mother. I would like to help him grow a bit tho.

I'll tell you the kids that are the hardest, are those whose parents are going through a divorce or recently divorced. They are horrible listeners and just rebellious. I've been coaching for a couple of years now and unfortunately had one on every team. You get them on a good day and they can be a great kid but then some days they are just unmanageable.

As far as discipline, don't be afraid to talk to the parents. Just make it known they aren't listening and you probably are going to have to have them sit out some drills or miss game time.

ETA: I meant to say its hard to deal with those kids above just because you know more then likely shite is going down at home and its not necessarily their fault. So you don't want to be too hard on them.

Depending on the age, address it with the parents. If he’s too old to be acting a fool then benching is a good place to start. Younger players have to be fearful of the potential consequences.

I helped out with a camp this weekend and got assigned the 5 year olds. Yeesh! Once I asked them what their teachers do when they act up they all screamed TIMEOUT! Once I started saying they’d go to timeout for acting up during the camp, I had them kids running through cone drills with ease

How is this even a question? You talk to him and tell him he needs to stop. If he doesn't, you talk to his parents. If he doesn't stop you sit him or remove him from the team.

You may also send an an email to all the parents just talking about that. Just say you're having discipline problems with a couple of kids, if the parents feel you need to do something different to please don't be afraid to speak up to you as the coach, and give them all a plan of attack to deal with misbehaving at practice.

That way you aren't just addressing the single kid and parent.

Generally speaking most parents know their kids are being bad and want you to discipline them. There's always exceptions, but I usually have a couple parents come up to me throughout the year to talk about discipline or whatever.

Make him pitch and bat leadoff. He's either going to rise to the challenge and become a star - and who cares about attitude at that point - or he'll wilt under pressure, become ostracized by his teammates and eventually quit and turn to hard drugs, thus working itself out. Win-win-win.

What age? Generally make him run, do push ups, understand it won't be acceptable for the team. I had one kid that I had an assistant coach take him on as a project. Just stayed on the kid encouraging him, praising him, or riding him not stop. There were some small victories with that kid, but he's still got a bad attitude from what I hear.
