Question About Serial Killer Profiling & Catching Derrick Todd Lee

If you have not read watched Mindhunters season 2 yet you might not want to proceed. There could be some spoilers in my post.
If you have watched Mindhunters season 2, you know its about the killer who allegedly killed 30 kids in Atlanta (but was only charged for the killing of 2 or 3 adults).
Anyway, the textbook profile of a serial killer is a white male likely to have high intelligence.
When they were investigating the Baton Rouge serial killer, before actually catching DTL, didn't they dismiss the idea that it could have been a black male at first?
Even if the only black serial killer that had been caught before DTL was the Wayne Williams guy from ATL, why would that not have changed the profile of a serial killer? At that point they should have learned not to limit the thinking that a SK had to fit a certain profile.
The Williams guy from ATL was college educated and came from a conservative family (which I think might have contributed to him doing what he did. I think he was gay and couldn't be who he was because of his parents. I think him picking the kids had to do with what he thought of them. He thought they were no good hood rats so I think he justified to himself he was actually doing something good by killing them).
But back to DTL. If I recall his name was suggested but was dismissed because of his race. Why would they do that?

How many shitty threads are you going to start today?
Completely wrong, again. There have been many other black serial killers. You are just ignorant of them, like normal.
Here’s 9 just from recent history in America.
This isn’t counting the islands, s America or Africa.
Black Serial Killers
Do you ever get tired of being constantly, painfully wrong? And you have the gall to call other people stupid.
Take your ban and stop posting.

They don't dismiss black people as serial killers. What they said in their profiling was it is extremely rare for a serial killer to venture outside his own race.

There ended up being an active white serial killer at the same time in the same areas.

Serial killers typically don’t cross over to kill different races.

Yes. They said it was a white or Asian male. The profiler sketch that was given to the Sheriff of the parish I worked in, even had short, straight hair. Those sketches were handed out to patrol, office, and correctional officers as a sort of a BOLO.

Whet do you want to know, Chris?

I dont think you really have a question here, you just want to tell everyone about the show you've been watching and how much you think you know on the subject.

The DC snipers were after DTK... If I recall.. Or maybe not, it was around the same time.
But you actually made my point even stronger. Forgive me, I didn't look to see all of the black serial killers, but my point is.. If I recall with DTL, the investigators dismissed the idea that it was a black male. They were basing it more on a "textbook" profile of a serial killer.

That is true, but both were targeting two different types of women.

I came in here to frick with you, but you’re not worth reading all that shite to come up with something clever.

I will admit, I don't know that much about the subject. Sure I have an interest in serial killers, but not to the point I have done massive research on them. But whatever reason you think I started this thread is the exact reason because.. Well because I really don't give a frick what you think and I am not going to waste time trying to convince you otherwise so.. Whatever you say about me is 100% correct.
