Full Disclosure: Shreveport isn’t terrible, but being honest, it’s not great either.

I had someone hint to me about employment there within the past 5 years, and the location was not a plus for me.

Doesn’t a judge set your bail? How do you bail out before seeing a judge? I’ve known people that got picked up on a Friday night that had to sit in the drunk tank until Monday when a judge was in

It has to be somewhere. It's public record.

As for as having enough pull, if someone has enough pull or knows someone with enough pull, they would likely not get arrested in the first place.

In EBR, if someone gets arrested for DWI it will at least be in the advocate.

There’s a judge on call at (pretty much) all times. All facilities detaining folks let the respective judge know who all (and for what charge) has been picked up daily. Judge reviews, sets bail, and communicates this back to the detention center via fax or computer. I think it’s a lil harder to find the judge on weekends to set bail on certain charges. For the aforementioned reasons, many times, police will make a point of arresting higher profile / non -routine type offenders on Friday afternoon. It ensures the accused (pretty much) has to stay in jail a night or two.
