So while I've been ranting about Rapinoe today I've also been talking to a women on one of the online dating sites I'm on. I got back into the dating scene about 6 months without a whole lot of success. I've exchanged a few messages with this women, verified she's real (found her on facebook) and even asked her out. She's accepted and we're just trying to figure out when now.

Considering I haven't dated in awhile this will be my first in person date in probably 3 - 4 years. With that said it goes against my Incel identity which says that I am unable and too ugly to get a date.

If I actually do go on this date, does that violate my identity as an Incel? Will I no longer be able to be a part of the Incel community? I'm asking because that would definitely leave me alone and isolated.

What do you think about this identity and how it defines me? Should I take her out on a date and risk losing my identity? Or should I decline a date and preserve the identity?

This is a thought provoking question. Would remaining part of the incel community drive you to suicide quicker than getting rejected by some girl on the internet?

Oh come on I'm actually being serious. Trust me it surprised me as well but we have a lot in common and she seems to be up for it. She wants to try to arrange some time this week.

Considering my lack of experience here it is interesting. Do I stay with what I know (being an Incel) or do I actually try to do something with this? (and lose the Incel identity) Amazingly enough she's actually decently attractive as well.

I'll admit the idea of a date and possible relationship excites and scares me at the same time.

No. I'll admit I could've phrased it better. I've talked to women for awhile but never got to the point of an actual date or if I did ask it was rejected.

If you’ve asked out a woman and she’s accepted, then this...

...is simply wrong.

You did it dude, you succeeded; don’t let your head get in the way. Go on the date, leave your internet self behind for a couple hours, and just try to have some fun.

I suggest you develop a relationship with a therapist before you start dating.

BellaTigre I'll admit sex has always somewhat intimidated me. It's a mental block that I think causes me to unconsciously sabotage possible relationships. I always get very nervous before dates like this as well.

I already have a therapist. My therapist was the one who actually recommended that I start dating again. She thinks in the very least it will help with being around actual women again and help with the process of unclogging all the Incel stuff in my brain. She thinks the Incel stuff has warped my view of women and therefore has made it more difficult for me to meet women. In other ways she thinks the Incel stuff has also caused me to unconsciously isolate from other people in general and to escape from reality. She is hoping that dating will help bring me back to reality as well.
