yeah yeah I have super AIDS, moving on.

About 3 days ago the inside of my left cheek felt a little funky, but I had accidentally bitten it while eating that day so I thought nothing of it. Later on I noticed that it was very dry, almost leathery. Then a day later it was the same but had now started on the right cheek as well, and kind of my tongue. No discoloration or spots, just extremely, very dry and rough feeling. I'm starting to get a bit worried but am trying not to freak myself out too much just yet. Full disclosure; I have used smokeless tobacco for years but I haven't used any in 2 days once this started just to see if it would blow over.

Has anyone experienced this before?

If you are overweight or just unhealthy(drink, smoke, eat out a lot) get checked for diabetes.

I'm not overweight at all. And probably 2 months ago I was in about the best shape of my life, but the last 2 months I've really done a 180. I don't exercise, eat kinda crappy, and drink very heavily. But it's not like that's a lifetime pattern, I've only been in that mode for a few months. Does that matter?

google image search "effects of smokeless tobacco" and look how nasty/leathery those peoples' mouths are. I'd cut back if I were you.

I am no expert on the matter. I just know a common symptom is dry mouth. Very common symptom. It's a crazy disease so I guess anything is possible. The adults I know who have type2 typically didn't do something right to there body(Not always). It could also be a side effect to a medication. If you started a medication up to a few weeks before this started it could be that as well.

I'm thinking you may have to wait just a little longer to see an improvement

That's what happens when you line it with carcinogens for years

Seriously though, you need to go see your doctor. Not to freak you out, but dip users are at high risk for mouth cancers, and you have some weird symptoms. Visit your doctor ASAP

years eh?...it's in the skin...and no problems til you broke the skin. all bets are off.

I wouldn't use til it healed up

it's the mouth, it's moist...not much you can do, just wait it out

good luck

that's not a pattern for healing

raw foods and knock off the alcohol til you are fully healed

I don't use dip I use camel snus, not that it makes THAT much difference.

But yes I am absolutely not doing any tobacco for a while, I'll clean up my diet a bit as well. It just kinda freaked me out. Obviously the natural tendency is for your brain to assume the worst so hopefully it's nothing to serious. Thanks for the replies.

Drink bottled water or out of a cooler. The water at my house makes my mouth dry no matter how much I drink. Maybe that's your problem

I do drink water throughout the day that almost exclusively comes from a tap, but I've been doing that for about 8 months now.
