xerostomia can be a medication side effect , however,
usually silent laryngopharygeal reflux is the most frequent etiology.
considering history of tobacco use, would be prudent to get a baseline screening in office flexible fiberoptic laryngoscopy. simple and easy.

dietary modification, and a 1 month trial of combination Prilosec at 40mg 1 - 2x/day and Zantac 300 twice daily is an easy pharmocologic test

Just rub jizz all around your inner orifice, it should provide adequate lubricant to increase moisture.
