One more vestige of western civilization and heritage gone.

Limp dick Charles and the rest of postmodern society will kill whats left of that tradition.

I always thought that other than cultural tradition, modern monarchies were dumb and an assault on democracy, but I think it was Stephen Fry who articulated this point that resonated so well.

By having a monarch as a symbolic face and figurehead of a country, it frees up the executive branch of government from also having to fulfill that role so that they can actually focus on policy and governance.

RIP.

Unironically our ancestors would be rolling in their graves if they saw us now and would probably regret fighting against England.

Our “special relationship” with the UK just got even deeper.

As of today, we both have folks with no discernible brain activity as our respective Heads of State.

They made allies with them immediately after the war. They'd be mourning like the US mourns any of our allies losing a leader.

Many in the kingdom are left wondering if the now King Charles is too old to rule at 73. The King seems confident saying "i have had great advice on leading during the twilight of life from my mother and president joe biden"

Looking at a live feed right now, and it makes me sad seeing Philip’s funeral and it being nearly empty with Elizabeth in a mask.

I looked, her family was on the throne 1100 years ago (roughly)

thats 4x as long as the US has been a country.

when america was discovered, england was almost 2x as old as america is now

edit - cleaned up for the TD proofreaders

Here’s an even crazier number: Queen Elizabeth has reigned 30% of the time America has been a country. That’s nuts.

Prince Harry is the only one not yet at Balmoral. So even when she dies, he continues to make himself look bad.
