The girlfriend (no pics) has been bugging me since the day after Halloween to help her put up Christmas decorations. I told her that it’s way too damn early and I’d help her on December 1.

She spent the entire day today decorating her house instead of coming with me to the Panthers bar to watch the games.

Am I an a-hole for refusing to help her until December? I think putting up stockings, lights, and wreaths and whatnot in early November is dumb, but I also don’t want to be an arse.

Just do it.

It's 2020.

We could all use some cheer right about now.

It’s ridiculous to do it this early imo.

Would you put up Halloween decorations at the beginning of September? No.

You want to go all out on Black Friday? Have at it. But let’s get through Thanksgiving first, please.

I have a "not until Thanksgiving" rule, personally.

I put my Christmas shite up early. Usually around November 15. The kids enjoy it, and if I’m going to go through all the fuss and trouble I’m going to enjoy that shite for awhile.

Dec. 1st isn't the correct date. Black Friday is. Spend the day decorating for Christmas instead of engaging in shopping excess.

Who gives a shite? As long as the tree doesn’t go up until after Thanksgiving, some decorating is fine. She’s likely in a great mood from decorating, too. Ham that shite up and lay some early Christmas pipe.

I used to have a Thanksgiving rule, then I moved to the burbs and put lights up on my roof. I'll be damned if I do all that work again and only get to enjoy it a month. Plus, I can enjoy Christmas lights, music, etc. and still enjoy Thanksgiving. It's not like I am neglecting Thanksgiving festivities that occur in the lead up to Thanksgiving day.

Wife put me on notice today. I need to get the tree down between now and Friday because come Friday afternoon, I plan on being 25ft in a tree. Hopefully everything is up when I get back from the camp on Sunday.

Soms people don't want to celebrate Thanksgiving because they had a family member die that day.

Also I've never understood why men hate having a tree up early. Who freaking cares.
