Putting political messages on business cards

I received a business card the other day from a small business owner. We met at a networking event and one of the things he mentioned was that he wished he wished he had more customers.
Anyways he hands me his card and we go our sepeate ways. I put it in my pocket and never looked at it.
I got home and pulled out the cards I got at the event to look through them. On the bottom right of one of the cards, it says "Make America Great Again".
Now personally I do not care, and that would not cause me to do business, or not do business, with this man. But in today's hyper sensitive political environment, that seems like a good way to close yourself off from a number of potential customers. And considering he was talking about wanting more customers, I found it odd.
O-T have any experience with this? Any of y'all do this? How does it impact your business?

I don't want to do business with anyone that is stupid enough to disorient 50% of their clientele

It’s a shame that a simple slogan about the American return to greatness has so many up in a tizzy because the media has told them what to think.
American prosperity helps Americans.
ETA: but I don’t think businessmen should play politics publicly.

If you have ever visited a third world country you know America is already great.
Stupid slogan is stupid.
Stupid slogan is stupid.

I’m 110% MAGA but that guy is a fricking idiot. In business, cash doesn’t see politics.

Being better than third world shitholes doesn’t mean we haven’t fallen in prominence.

Kind of dumb business wise to exclude a certain group due to politics.

It’s linked to a certain political party.

It presumes that America was no longer, and still is not, great. The only reason you like it is because you like the man saying it. If MAGA had been Obama's slogan, conservatives would have had an aneurysm.

Maybe I'm alone but I couldn't give two shits about our "prominence"

Hopefully this is a person who typically deals with people of a like minded political persuasion.

You are.

Depends what kind of business the guy owns. If it’s a gun store or a common sense factory he probably doesn’t have many liberal customers anyway.

I have clients who are "preppers", who voted for Trump, who think Jeb! is the greatest ever, who think Joe B should be president, and who think AOC is a conservative.
They all want to talk politics with me and I just give a little laugh and say that's above my pay grade. I really don't discuss it at all. As long as they pay their fees, I'm good with whatever they want to believe!

Fits the Troy fandom

I'm not going to share that fact, but I'll say it's not something that would tend to favor one side, like a gun store or a vegan food store.

No, his was ‘Hope and Change’. We needed to change because the country wasn’t good enough for Obama.

And to my recollection, conservatives nearly stroked out at the suggestion that American needed to change a damned thing.
