Sounds like you are both right. Everyone should save some money for tough times and not be so dependent on other people. Acting as if O&G employees are the only ones that should do that is pretty stupid.

Of course I know saving in any situation is important. I was just trying to make a point. Thats why I max the 401k match and my Roth IRA contributions. Plus put a little away for a rainy day. Im not trying to bash on anybody. It's all relative and yes I do feel bad for those who are negatively impacted on the low oil prices.

ha Ha Putin gonna bomb Iranian oil storage and Saudi infrastructure.

I've never seen any evidence to suggest he might have a more nuanced plan.

Being that the bottom is near and I work in the industry & survived massive layoffs late last year, tough to argue with this from a day to day standpoint. However, I'd rather pay 2.50 a gallon with a robust economy. There is a middle ground we should all hope for. 3.50-4.00 a gallon is too harsh, 2.25-2.50 is the sweet spot we should all hope for.

And how does one stabilize the oil markets? Cutting their own production? Bombing Saudi production facilities?

Even if you had this purging and hit the reset button, what do you think would eventually happen again? The superior human beings left would find away to take back control and manipulate society for their benefit just like we are doing now.

I hope this wasn't for me and for the truck nut crowd. Because anyone in O&G that doesn't know a downturn will happen (not if, but will) at some point is a fool. Even I don't take chances (save heavily) and my customers are probably the closest thing to bulletproof that there could be in O&G.

Isis isn't going to be defeated in a month. But at least he's doing something.
