I need to purchase an old FEMA trailer for an engineering study. Does anyone know a contact info and approximate cost of these trailers? I know there are a few places with 1000s of them like the one off I-12 near Robert.

No, no one will be living in these as they will surely be in poor and unhealthy conditions.

Thanks in advance.

With or without formaldehyde. That's the difference maker.

Understood. Preference is without formaldehyde. I will consider one with formaldehyde pending the eventual disposal cost (I only plan to have this for 2-3 months).

As I recall they're by Holden, which is about 15-20 miles west of Robert.

No idea who has them. Try craiglist in general for one.

I don't think the feds allow people to buy those because of the chemicals, so they just pay for them to sit in a field

Most of them are deemed not fit for occupancy by the FEDs. BUT, there are still some out there that can be purchased at various auctions (don't know the exact ones off the top of my head). I actually work for FEMA at the staging yard on N Sherwood Forrest and we have a couple hundred units now that were used previously and now ready for occupancy. There are some new build 1 and 2 bedroom units that are pretty nice and I would love to get my hands on one for a duck camp.

Maybe, I know there's an online auction where you can get them. I'll find out tomorrow

Boggles the mind. My buddy was involved in a business venture where FEMA was paying them to keep a warehouse full of ice. You know, frozen water. They milked that thing for FIVE YEARS until FEMA finally decided to stop paying. Then they just turned off the coolers and let the stuff go down the drain.

The government waste that goes on during these disaster assistance jobs is truly mind boggling, and I see it every single day. Hardly any organization, any accountability, and any semblance of structure whatsoever, but contractors don't care because FEMA pays them for the wasted time and resources. It's absolutely ridiculous and it has been going on for a LONG time.
